To many of my colleagues, I appear to be a college student pursuing internship here. There have been numerous instances when they have come to me and told - "How did the interviews go?" , "have you been taken in?" "When is your joining date?" etc ... Today, there was another such instance... and I felt good about it, considering that I've been growing horizontally in the last couple of months....
"Hey hi... So, AUG 1st is your joining date? " he(an intern) asked when I was leaving for breakfast...
I was preoccupied with the thought of choosing my breakfast (something that doesn't add extra calories).
"No. What about yours?" I asked, as the context started to sink in my mind.
"I re-joined this monday. I thought RV people had it on AUG 1st".
Then I gave a broad smile and explained him that I joined here as a lateral. Then I proceeded towards the cafeteria. On the way I met another friend (my cabmate), who had told I looked very chubby these days (you know, the HR-way ;) ) I told her that someone just asked me if I was an intern here and her chubby theory was quite diminishing. Then I heard someone calling me... When I turned back, to my awe, it was the same intern right behind me . I am dead sure he had overheard my conversation....
AND THATS GODDAMN EMBARRASSING!!! :((((((( Why the hell does it happen ONLY with me and ALWAYS?? It could be an implication from my past life... :D
